Doc C's Ma and his older brother Richie have come for the weekend to visit Evalyn. Both of them have had lots of experience with babies (Doc's Ma has six children and an even dozen grand-children, and Rich has a step grand-daughter who is 2 or 3 now who he helps to look after) so it's been nice to have them here, validating our parenting.
Eva has been very well-behaved whilst they were visiting and has barely cried at all (except when she's getting hungry). I think my Mother-in-Law's favourite thing has been seeing her youngest son changing nappies, and generally being a really good dad (Have I mentioned that Doc C is a bloody great dad? Well, he is. I am extremely lucky to have such a supportive husband, and I think Eva is going to thoroughly enjoy being his daughter).
Ma and Rich fly home tomorrow, but my Mum gets here in a week and will be staying for a fortnight. We may not be as close geographically to our families as we would like at the moment, but when it counts we definitely feel very supported by them.
