We've been meaning to get a portrait of the Queen for a while, and this week we actually got it organised.
First of all we found a portrait of the Queen that we liked on-line (It's a Dorothy Wilding photo, that was hand-tinted in those gorgeous fifties colours), downloaded it to a zip drive and took it to Staples to be printed on shiny card stock. That cost a dollar.
Today we went in search of a frame, and we very specifically wanted something a bit tacky. In one of the local antique markets, after some thorough searching of the aisles, we found a faux mother-of-pearl frame of exactly the right size for $6.50.
It's so fabulous, it goes with our red mid-century modern living room beautifully and it cost us under ten dollars.
