Last time I bought yarn, I happened to get two hanks of red cotton. Before I started knitting with the first one I wound it into a ball, but it took ages because I let it all get tangled up as I went.
This time I unfolded the hank carefully and held it taut between my knees. That worked a lot better.
And, as you can see, I had the very close supervision of Miss Edith Cavell-Cat. She is fascinated by yarn and all things yarn related. She is such a cliche.
