We are currently watching a lot of TV series on DVD thanks to the wonder of Netflix. It's great, no commercial breaks and you can whip through a series really quickly so you're always on top of the plot and don't forget anything crucial.
Recently we watched season one of "Dexter", which we enjoyed very much indeed; there is nothing quite as entertaining as a lovable serial killer is there? I was also pleased that although I spotted one major plot twist fairly easily, a second one came out of nowhere and slapped me round the face. It's rare that a TV show surprises me like that, so that was particularly satisfying.
Now we are three discs into the third season of "The Wire", which I may have mentioned before is very very good. The Doc had seen seasons one and two, but the third season is fresh meat and so he has no idea what's going to happen and who is going to be a major player in this season. That meant when the opening credits started on the first episode we were watching them like hawks for the actors playing our favourite characters, and there was much delight when I noticed that Aiden Gillen had joined the cast.
Although it's entirely possible I may now have drug deals on the brain, last night having watched two episodes back-to-back I jokingly suggested to the Doc that a couple of our neighbours activities were extremely suspicious. We both laughed. And then we thought, no really what the hell are they doing?
Hmmm, I wonder if I should set up the PS2 eyetoy as a surveillance device?
